There is no reason to stop your life because you have an illness or living with a disability
Aspiring words, lived by Lize-Marie Steyn, who lost her long battle to Cancer on the 29th of July 2019. Amongst 251 graduates who received their qualifications on 01 October 2019 at the University of South Africa (Unisa), Mrs Hantie Steyn, mother of the deceased, received a posthumous degree in Financial Accounting from the College of Accounting Sciences on behalf of her daughter.
Her mother explained that Lize-Marie received her results on Saturday, 27 July, which confirmed Lize-Marie's dedication to her studies and the love she had for her work, despite her cancer and chemotherapy.
"As a mother, I am proud of her - at the age of 25 she has achieved a lot. She dedicated her degree to her father who passed away 16 years ago. She showed us that there is no reason to stop your life, because you have an illness or living with a disability", Hantie concluded.
Lize-Marie's beautiful presence will roam the halls of our Middel & Partners Pretoria East office, leaving joyous memories behind. As an organisation we are extremely proud of her achievement and perseverance, truly exhibiting her own Greatness as an Inspiring Accountant.
